Janine and Matt discovered Arcady Vineyard Bed & Breakfast in February 2019. Matt is a food and wine enthusiast and was excited to introduce Janine to the Charlottesville area. Their visit to Arcady was an inspiration to have their own B&B someday. They casually considered B&B ownership in the years that followed and when they returned to Arcady in late 2024, they fell in love with the scenic area once again.
Both Matt and Janine had built successful careers in Human Resources. When the opportunity to purchase Arcady presented itself, they embraced their passion to host and entertain and decided to make their dream a reality. With Janine’s gift for design, and Matt’s experience in food and hospitality, they purchased the business March 2025 and look forward to building off what is already a wonderful model.
Janine and Matt are privileged and honored to carry on the legacy of Arcady Vineyard Bed & Breakfast’s established reputation as a consistently top-rated B&B. They will also carry on the goal of Arcady Vineyard Bed & Breakfast to provide guests a luxurious but casual and relaxing getaway in the heart of Virginia Wine Country.
As Innkeepers and your hosts, Janine and Matt strive to have all the information you need for your stay, and special extras designed to elevate your guest experience. They are geared towards the vibrant food scene, local wineries and vast history in and around the Charlottesville area.
Matt and Janine are animal lovers. Guests might meet their dog Cocoa after breakfast or hear their cockatiel Sofia chirping from their Innkeeper’s quarters. Cocoa was adopted from a rescue organization in northern VA when she was approximately 3 years old. Sofia is also a rescue and was adopted from a shelter in Maryland when she was 2. They love to meet guests but also recognize that not everyone wants to be their friend so their interaction is carefully monitored to ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.
