and quiet only 6.5 miles from the excitement of the downtown walking mall. Here,
you can hear the pileated woodpecker tapping away in the surrounding forest, wander
through our vineyard, watch the deer graze outside your window, and at night really
SEE the stars stand out against the evening sky. Arcady
is a Virginia Wine Country bed and breakfast, with special amenities created by
wine enthusiasts for wine and beer lovers, as well as history buffs. We are conveniently
located in a cluster of wineries just over two miles from Jefferson's Monticello,
and four miles from Monroe's Ashlawn-Highland. We pride ourselves in "buying
local" as much as we can, and practice green and sustainable habits as much
as possible. We
are the only bed and breakfast in Charlottesville with a working vineyard, and
the only one that offers private escorted wine tasting tours for our guests. We
don't hand you a map and send you on your way - we drive you to the wineries,
go in and guide you through your tastings, and answer your questions. The
big limo companies may tout that their drivers are "UC Davis instructed",
but what good is training from someone once connected with a University in California
if the driver sits in the limo and sends you in to fend for yourself in a Virginia
Winery?? Those here
"in the know" look to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, and the viticulture
department there for advice. We belong to the the Virginia Vineyards Association,
to acquire the advice and training from Tony Wolf , Professor of Viticulture,
and his associates at Tech. They are who the local vineyards look to, as they
are constantly experimenting and studying the viticulture here in our Virginia
Vineyards.Our
spacious junior suite layout allows our guests with space to relax, even after
opening their suitcase, and comes equipped with amenities that are really used:
- A
wine fridge stocked with a bottle of sparkling wine as well as soda and water.
- Local
wine tasting, or wine and cheese the evening of check-in
- Junior
suite layout is a spacious 400 square feet - plenty of room for guests and luggage.
- Grande
Suite layout is 800 square feet and sleeps two couples with two private baths
and two bedrooms.
- Bathrooms
with heated tiled floor, heated towel rack, spa shower.
- Some
suites have spa nook with whirlpool tub and remote controlled fireplace, others
have sitting room nook.
- TV/DVD
Player - snuggle up, pop some popcorn, and watch movies from our collection with
your special someone.
- Farm-fresh
bountiful wine country breakfasts served at individual tables, giving you time
to wake up!.
- Transportation
to and from the 6.5 miles to town for Wine Tour Packages for dinner
until 9:30.
- Tasting
room with snacks - cookies, chocolates, popcorn, bottled water and soda.
- Back
deck for lounging, watching the wildlife, and viewing the vineyard.
- Walking
trails in our forest which surrounds the inn and vineyard.

Policies Please
note we are a NON SMOKING PROPERTY
to protect our health and satisfy our
insurance policy. Per
our insurance policy, no candles are allowed in our rooms.
They will set off
our fire alarm system. Due
to our Wine Country Service, we cannot accommodate those under the age of 21 Our
Borzoi dog resides in our separate owner's quarters and the vineyard.
Nevertheless,
we may not be suitable for those with severe allergies to animals. Cancellation
policy: Entire reservation willl be charged
if cancellation is less than 10
days from check in date, unless the suite can be rebooked.
Early departures and no-shows are responsible for the cost of their entire reservation.
